The Airborne Region Foundation wants to keep the memory of the Battle of Arnhem alive by encouraging people to learn from the lessons concerning – the prevention of – wars and conflicts for the sake of acquiring and maintaining peace and freedom. The history of the Second World War is characterised by events and developments that were so radical that the memory of this war continuous to play a big role in our lives today. Different interpretations concerning the war feed different perspectives – a war has many faces. Wherever there are people, there will be contrasting observations and memories. In September 2019, various different parties in the Airborne Region will consider the theme ‘many faces’.
